Since 2004, the Rotary Club of Northbridge has helped to provide assistance to many underprivileged children in Bali to undertake their schooling, through the Rotary Northbridge Bali Program.
The program has the following aims:
- To support and enhance the ability of underprivileged children to access all areas and activities of the primary school curriculum, with the provision of educational books, sporting equipment and uniforms, additional learning facilities including reference libraries, and computer training.
- To provide additional professional development training for teachers to improve the education for all children, and particularly in remote areas of Bali, to break the generational poverty cycle.
- To enhance the general school life experience for all children by providing clean water, health infrastructure, and school facilities for ongoing generations.
Club members and their friends and business associates contribute funds each year calculated at $100 for each assisted student. The donations are administered through Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) and the Rotary Club of Bali Taman (D-3420). Donations are fully tax-deductible.
